Hollywood
It is not possible to visit Los Angeles without paying a visit to the temple of cinema, one of the major symbols of the American dream. This passionate love story with cinema began in 1911 with the installation of the first studio. Some of the must see things here are the famous Mann’s Chinese Theater, the Walk of Fame and the Sunset Boulevard.
Beverly Hills
It became world famous after the television series of the same name. The neighborhood of Beverly Hills is the neighborhood of luxury. It is located west of the city, between Hollywood and the coast of Santa Monica. It is a very pleasant area with beautiful wooden houses that worth a visit by themselves.
Santa Monica
Located northwest of Los Angeles near Venice Beach and Beverly Hills, the city of Santa Monica is the main resort of Los Angeles. The station is worth seeing for the authentic charm, with lively and relaxed atmosphere as well as a backdrop of beautiful landscapes. Two walks not to miss are the 3rd Street Promenade and Santa Monica Pier. On the latter, you can find restaurants, shops and a funfair.
Venice Beach
Venice Beach is a colorful neighborhood, perfect for relaxing as cars are prohibited in the Mecca of the hippie movement in Los Angeles. Many attractions can be found in the streets, such as musicians, speakers, dancers, jugglers and fire-eaters. Venice Beach is located west of the city, near the airport. You should also take advantage of riding the bicycle along the beach, several kilometers and can drive up to Santa Monica.
Sunset Boulevard
This is one of the most famous boulevards in the world! The Sunset Boulevard is 40 km long making it the longest street in Los Angeles. As its name suggests, on Sunset Boulevard, life begins after dark! A route that makes you to move from one extreme to another in American society: it begins in poor and dangerous neighborhoods of downtown and then through the neighborhoods of Hollywood and Beverly Hills. The boulevard ends at the beaches of Santa Monica.
Farmers Market
This is an area known for its covered market, created by farmers during the Great Depression. The market is one of the few places in Los Angeles where you can find fresh food from around the world. You can take a streetcar to look at the old travels the footpaths, lined with restaurants, cafes and boutiques.
The Getty Museum
Recently built, the museum has various famous works of Italian Renaissance to David Hockney, through the work overview of Van Gogh, Renoir, Monet and Cezanne. The collections include a fund belonging to the oil magnate John Paul Getty. The building itself is astounding and worth a visit for itself.
Disneyland
Located in Anaheim, about forty miles south of Los Angeles, Disneyland is the first Disney Park and it has a sixty major attractions. You will enjoy going there mainly if you have children, who will be thrilled to be in the dreamland created by Walt Disney.
Universal Studios
The shooting location of the greatest films the world as ET, Jurassic Park or King Kong features several attractions and each one of them is designed around the theme of a famous film.
Knott’s Berry Farm
Designed in 1934, Knott’s Berry Farm is the first major American theme park. Its main attraction is the reconstruction of an American village of the nineteenth century, in the time of the gold rush.
